Thank You to Everyone who participated in the 1st Annual Holiday Joy Ride
An enthusiastic crowd of about 250 turned out to enjoy a bright, sunny January day. Riders of all ages set out to explore the trails with everyone finding a little something special along the way.
Local bike shops provided "Road Rangers" to patrol the trails in case of flat tires or other mechanical failures. Two local volunteer groups, RSVP and REACT, provided manpower throughout the trail routes and at Central Park for registration, staging and traffic control. Six BMX bikes were given away to local kids courtesy of GEA Auto Sales and Repair. The winner of the bike decorating contest received a shopping spree valued at more than $200. Special thanks to Brighthouse Networks and Palm Coast Holdings for their generosity in helping makes this event a success.
It was universally agreed this was a great event to promote the trails and paths in Palm Coast and was an excellent showcase of the time, money and effort the City has made to develop one of the finest bicycle trail systems in the country.
